Sales Checklist – Receivers/Amps

All units I list for sale have had a general service at least. Here are some things I check.

• Dirty controls and switches are cleaned with deoxit
• Bias current and DC offset are checked and adjusted if needed
• Replace lamps if they are dead or near dead. Dial lamps are replaced as a set.
• Speaker relay is cleaned if the unit has one
• Face, knobs, and dial are washed
• Verify tuner gets good signal and FM stereo works
• Known problematic power switches are fixed with a triac mod that takes the strain off the switch to make it reliable long term
• Solder is inspected and reflowed as needed.
• Failing capacitors are replaced
• All functions are tested and verified working
